Position: Substitute Van Driver

 

Positions Available:                            Department: Truchas Senior Center

Rio Arriba County is seeking a responsible party to provide a variety of transportation services for Senior Program participants such as; shopping; pick up seniors at home and transport to senior center; transport to recreational activities; and other destinations as needed on a Substitute Basis.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Assist kitchen staff in preparing, serving, and packing meals on wheels
  • Maintain a vehicle maintenance report that will be submitted monthly to supervisor
  • Conduct a daily vehicle check
  • Insure that all proper documentation pertaining to the vehicle and driver are in vehicle at all times
  • Provide assistance to seniors boarding and disembarking from the van at all times.
  • Maintain a vehicle maintenance report and submits monthly to Supervisor;
  • Conducts a daily vehicle check which should include but be limited to checking oils, transmission fluid, windshield fluid, tire inflation, vehicle cleanliness, insures that proper documentation pertaining to the vehicle and driver is in vehicle at all times;
  • Verifies that all Fire Extinguishers and First Aid Kits are stored and stocked at all times;
  • Provides assistance to seniors boarding and disembarking from the van at all times;
  • Obeys all traffic laws and regulations pertaining to transportation vehicles;

Special Requirements:

  • Employee must complete and pass a pre-employment drug test;
  • A Valid New Mexico Driver’s License is required

POSITION:SHERIFF RECRUIT/CERTIFIED DEPUTY OFFICE: SHERIFF’S OFFICE

POSITIONS AVAILABLE: CONTINUOUS RECRUITMENT

                                                                                                                                                                                                       

Essential Job Duties:

  • Patrols County areas and roads as assigned;
  • Provides immediate response to calls, enforcement of traffic safety, reduction and prevention of criminal activity;
  • Transports prisoners as required including extraditions;
  • Serves both civil and criminal paperwork.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Completion of the New Mexico Law Enforcement Academy Law Officer Certification Program within one year of employment;
  • Knowledge of geography, street systems, routes, traffic codes, personal safety procedures, principles of first aid;
  • Ability to operate police vehicle, firearms and other assigned equipment;
  • Ability to work under pressure and implement all rules, regulations, policies and procedures established by the office;
  • High School Diploma or GED Certificate is required;
  • Valid New Mexico Driver’s License.

Physical fitness test

Written comprehensive exam

Comprehensive background investigation

Formal interview

Medical evaluation

Pre-employment drug test

  • Able to understand all gauges in vehicle, judge distances and speeds to insure the safety of passengers;
  • Work Key Scores Preferred.

POSITION:   DETENTION COOK

                                              

Principal Job Duties:

  • Working from prepared menus, prepares a wide variety of foods for breakfast, lunch and dinner;
  • Maintains and controls inventory of food and supplies to Supervisor;
  • Operates and maintains kitchen equipment and temperatures;
  • Ensures cleanliness of entire kitchen area;
  • Supervises inmates (where applicable) in kitchen.

 Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of arithmetic in order to properly prepare menus, measurements and operate kitchen equipment;
  • Experience in inventory control preferred;
  • High School Diploma or GED Certificate is preferred;
  • Valid New Mexico Driver’s License.
