Position: CUSTODIAN I

Positions Available:  1              Department: Maintenance - Tierra Amarilla  

 Principal Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Cleans windows, windowsills and mirrors;
  • Vacuums and shampoos carpets;
  • Cleans facility which includes washing walls, cleaning restrooms and offices, dusting furniture etc.
  • Moves furniture as necessary;
  • Landscape duties include planting and watering vegetation, pruning, fertilizing and Removes snow from sidewalks and driveways;
  • mowing grass;
  • Maintains security of buildings by checking locks on doors and windows and patrolling grounds;
  • Collects and disposes of garbage;
  • Uses proper disinfectants to control odors and germs;
  • Sets up rooms for meetings;
  • Inspects facility for needed repairs and reports to supervisor;
  • Assembles desks and re-lamping lights;

 Skills, knowledge, and abilities:

  • High school diploma or GED Certificate is required ;
  • Experience in Custodial duties totaling one (1) year;
  • Knowledge of cleaning methods, practices, safety rules, cleansers, supplies and cleaning equipment;
  • Ability to communicate, follow and give instructions, add, subtract, multiply, divide measure, clean properly and operate cleaning equipment;
  • Skills include Manual Dexterity;
  • A Valid New Mexico Driver’s License is Required;
  • Work Keys Scores Preferred.

Selected applicants must complete and pass a pre-employment drug test and possess a valid New Mexico Driver’s License.
