Position: Van Driver

 

Positions Available:   1  Department: Senior Center - Truchas

OPENING DATE: January 01, 2019

CLOSING DATE: Open until Filled

 

Rio Arriba County is seeking a responsible party to provide a variety of transportation services for Senior Program participants such as; shopping; pick up seniors at home and transport to senior center; transport to recreational activities; and other destinations as needed on a Substitute Basis.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Provides a variety of transportation services for Seniors such as taking Seniors to senior Centers, shopping, pharmacists and recreational activities, etc.,
  • Assist kitchen staff in preparing, serving, and packing meals on wheels
  • Maintain a vehicle maintenance report that will be submitted monthly to supervisor
  • Conduct a daily vehicle check
  • Insure that all proper documentation pertaining to the vehicle and driver are in vehicle at all times
  • Provide assistance to seniors boarding and disembarking from the van at all times.
  • Maintain a vehicle maintenance report and submits monthly to Supervisor;
  • Conducts a daily vehicle check which should include but be limited to checking oils, transmission fluid, windshield fluid, tire inflation, vehicle cleanliness, insures that proper documentation pertaining to the vehicle and driver is in vehicle at all times;
  • Verifies that all Fire Extinguishers and First Aid Kits are stored and stocked at all times;
  • Provides assistance to seniors boarding and disembarking from the van at all times;
  • Obeys all traffic laws and regulations pertaining to transportation vehicles;
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Director/Supervisor/Designee

Special Requirements:

  • Employee must complete and pass a pre-employment drug test;
  • A Valid New Mexico Driver’s License is required

Position: Clerk Technician I

Department: Clerk’s Department - Tierra Amarilla

 

The Rio Arriba County Clerk’s Office is seeking a computer literate individual responsible for carrying out day to day operations of the Clerk’s Office. The principal duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain as well as prepare Clerk’s fee report-including deposits to Treasures Office;
  • Must be computer literate to include running reports and checking for errors prior to final reports;
  • Must be able to prepare, certify and issue marriage licenses;
  • Answers telephone in a professional manner and directs calls to correct department/co-worker or takes messages;
  • Pick up and deliver AM and PM mail on scheduled basis; opens, stamps and delivers to correct department;
  • Copy documents for public from books, micro-fiche and computer;
  • Must be able to assist the public with general information associated with the Clerk’s office;
  • Must be able to correctly file documents alphabetically, numerically or chronologically as necessary;
  • Must be able to stamp, seal, copy, mail, certify and file office related documents;
  • Enter routine postings on various office records, daily entries to include documents for recording from abstract companies, the public and daily mail;
  • Assist public with copies of general information associated with the clerk’s office;
  • Performs other duties as assigned by County Clerk, Chief Deputy Clerk or Designee.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

  • High School Diploma or GED Certificate is required;
  • Must possess a valid New Mexico Driver’s License;
  • Must have good working knowledge of computers and other office equipment;
  • Must have good public skills and be able to work effectively with others;
  • At least six (6) months of clerical experience or other work related experience preferred;
  • Is able to understand and follow directions;
  • Must be able to communicate in written or oral form;
  • Must be able to work under stressful conditions, situations and with all types of personalities;
  • Must adhere to all County policies, procedures and regulations.
