Rio Arriba County Parks and Recreation Department
he goal of the Parks and Recreation Department is to promote health and prolong years for Senior Citizens, adults and the youth of Rio Arriba County. In doing so, the RAC Parks and Recreation Department assists local Senior Athletes by competing in annual Senior Olympic Games. The Parks and Recreation Department also provides recreational activities for school children during summer months.
Rio Arriba County Parks & Recreation Department is a proud member of the New Mexico Recreation & Parks Association.

The Rio Arriba County Senior Olympic Program is dedicated to promoting healthy lifestyles for all seniors 50 years and older through health treks, fitness, and sporting events. Department staff over the past years have been very successful in recruiting senior adults to join Senior Olympics and continue to improve and maintain the good health and wellness of our senior adults. In 2017 our Senior Olympians competed at the New Mexico Senior Olympic Summer Games held in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Rio Arriba County was well represented!
